The Aquafog XE HRSM-2000-EXP is a mobile fogging system built around Jaybird’s high-output XE centrifugal atomizer and an explosion-proof (hazardous-duty) motor for use in classified or explosion-prone environments. Designed for industrial humidification, evaporative cooling, dust suppression, and chemical fogging, the HRSM-EXP delivers portable high-volume fog production in facilities where standard equipment is not permitted.
Unlike high-pressure nozzle systems or spinning disc foggers, the HRSM-EXP uses Jaybird’s nozzle-free centrifugal atomization technology, producing extremely fine fog while eliminating clogged nozzles and high-pressure pumps.
The explosion-proof motor is rated for Class I, Group D and Class II, Groups F & G hazardous locations.
Explosion-proof units must be connected using properly rated explosion-proof electrical utilities, including both the male plug and matching female receptacle.
Using a standard non-rated plug, receptacle, or power connection will defeat the explosion-proof protection of the unit.
Jaybird offers an optional explosion-proof male plug for the unit power cord; however, the receiving female receptacle and all associated electrical components must also be properly rated and supplied by the customer or qualified contractor.
The HRSM-EXP includes an 18-gallon integrated supply tank, rugged wheeled chassis, and 4-position pivoting fogging head. Water flow is regulated by a quarter-turn ball valve and the system can be operated continuously or automated using a secondary hazardous-duty controller (where applicable).

The Jaybird XE HRSM-2000-EXP is engineered for facilities requiring explosion-proof humidification and evaporative cooling in classified or hazardous environments where volatile vapors, combustible dust, or other ignition risks may be present. Using Jaybird’s nozzle-free centrifugal atomizer technology, the HRSM-EXP produces ultra-fine fog and strong air propulsion while avoiding the nozzle clogging and high-pressure maintenance associated with typical misting systems.

Features & Controls
HRSM-EXP units include an internal feed pump, a manual 1/4-turn flow control valve, and an internal float valve to maintain proper tank water level during operation. Controls are simplified to meet explosion-proof requirements, with no integrated On/Off switch.

The manual ball valve allows operators to adjust fogging output based on the application. Lower feed rates generally produce a drier, finer fog, while higher feed rates increase output volume for broader coverage.

Control Tip: Start with a lower valve setting and increase flow only as needed. This helps maintain finer fog quality and reduces excess wetting.
Drainage Port
A specially engineered drainage port at the base of the motor allows condensation to escape, helping prevent internal moisture buildup while preserving the motor’s explosion-proof integrity.
