The Aquafog GT-500-HS centrifugal fogging system is designed for industrial humidification, evaporative cooling, and environmental control in facilities where a floor drain or continuous water supply may not be available.
The hanging sump configuration recirculates unused water, allowing installation in locations where plumbing or drainage connections are limited.
Unlike high-pressure misting systems or air-assisted nozzle foggers, the GT-500-HS uses Jaybird’s centrifugal atomization technology to produce fine fog particles without clogging nozzles or requiring high-pressure pumps.
The 14-inch industrial atomizer produces fog that evaporates rapidly for effective cooling and humidity control.
Because the GT platform operates with milder air propulsion and quieter airflow, it allows the use of OSHA-compliant safety guards, making it suitable for occupied industrial and agricultural environments.
The GT-500-HS Hanging Sump system includes a recirculating reservoir that captures and reuses excess water.
Water flow is regulated using a quarter-turn ball valve, and the system can be operated continuously or automated using a secondary humidity or temperature controller.

The Jaybird Aquafog GT-500-HS Hanging Sump system is designed for humidification and evaporative cooling applications where a floor drain or continuous water supply may not be available.
The integrated recirculating sump tank captures and reuses water, allowing reliable fog production in environments that require a self-contained humidification system.
Typical applications include:
Unlike high-pressure misting systems that rely on small nozzles prone to clogging, the GT 500-HS utilizes centrifugal fogging technology to produce consistent droplet size and dependable long-term operation in demanding environments.
GT 500-HS units include an internal feed pump, a manual 1/4-turn flow control valve, an illuminated On/Off power switch, and an internal float valve to maintain proper tank water level during operation.
The manual ball valve allows operators to adjust fogging output based on the application. Lower feed rates generally produce a drier, finer fog, while higher feed rates increase output volume for broader coverage.
| Valve Position | Typical Use | Fog Character |
|---|---|---|
| Full Open | Evaporative cooling, greenhouse cooling, concrete curing, mushroom growing | Highest output / heavier fog |
| Mid Open | General humidification, horticulture, wine barrel storage, wood/lumber/paper applications | Balanced output / general-purpose fogging |
| Slightly Open | Textile humidification, dust suppression, static control, lighter treatment applications | Drier / finer fog |
Control Tip: Start with a lower valve setting and increase flow only as needed. This helps maintain finer fog quality and reduces excess wetting.

The front guard meets OSHA safety regulations and is specially processed to create hydrophilic properties, allowing water to wick down the guard and back into the housing rather than bead and be thrown outward by the spinning atomizer.
Jaybird fog systems use a patented centrifugal atomizing blade developed in 1986. Water enters a reservoir behind the fan blade and is forced through internal channels inside each blade. As the blade spins, centrifugal force drives water toward the blade tips where it exits through precision openings.

At the blade tip, several processes occur simultaneously:
This multi-stage atomization process allows Jaybird systems to produce large volumes of fog while using a simple, reliable design with no high-pressure pumps or clogging nozzles.
The result is powerful fog production, strong air propulsion, and long-term reliability.

Increase Coverage & Circulation
Ideal for interior applications and permanent hanging installations, the XE 360 Oscillator increases fog coverage and air circulation through smooth, continuous sweeping motion. The oscillating action helps reduce droplet collisions and fallout while producing more uniform coverage patterns up to 70 feet in diameter. This allows the operator to run higher fog output levels than a stationary unit under equal conditions, resulting in less fallout and improved dryness beneath the fog pattern.
Recommended for indoor use only. While the oscillator assembly is built with a durable stainless steel enclosure and performs well in harsh interior environments, it should not be used in outdoor windy conditions. Wind gusts can place repeated stress on the oscillating housing and gear system, potentially causing premature wear or damage to the mounting assembly. For outdoor applications, a stationary-mounted unit is strongly recommended.
