XE CRSM 2000 Mobile Fog Fan -
Industrial ULV Chemical Fogger
with Agitation

Manufactured in the USA by Jaybird Manufacturing

The Aquafog XE CRSM-2000 is a high-output ULV chemical fogging system built around Jaybird’s centrifugal XE atomizer platform. Designed for greenhouse treatment, pesticide application, oxidizers, and facility-scale environmental conditioning, the CRSM delivers consistent fog production while maintaining simple mechanical design.

Unlike high-pressure pump and nozzle foggers, the CRSM utilizes Jaybird’s single-motor centrifugal atomization system, eliminating clogged nozzles and complex pump assemblies while delivering strong fog projection and wide area coverage.

The integrated bottom-feed pump with tank agitation keeps chemical solutions mixed and consistent during operation — including wettable powders and specialty formulations used in greenhouse and industrial applications.

Designed for unmanned operation, the CRSM includes timer control and automatic shut-off capability, allowing treatments to run according to re-entry schedules without operator supervision.

Manufactured direct by Jaybird, the CRSM delivers industrial-grade performance without distributor markups, offering a powerful alternative to high-priced chemical fogging systems.

All mobile fog systems ship freight and arrive fully assembled.

Many large greenhouse chemical fogging systems rely on air-assist nozzles and compressors that increase maintenance complexity and cost. Jaybird’s centrifugal atomizer design simplifies the system while still delivering strong fog output and airflow propulsion.

Industrial ULV Fogging Applications

The Jaybird XE CRSM-2000 is designed for industrial and greenhouse applications requiring ULV chemical fogging and large-area coverage. By combining centrifugal atomization with an integrated mixing system, the CRSM provides consistent chemical dispersion without the maintenance challenges associated with high-pressure nozzle systems.

Pivotable Fogging Head

Typical applications include:

  • Greenhouse pesticide and fungicide treatments
  • Agricultural disease control programs
  • Facility sanitation and oxidizing fog applications
  • Odor control and environmental treatment
  • Greenhouse humidity control
  • Insect control programs in agricultural buildings
  • Large-area ULV chemical fogging

Unlike many high-pressure fogging systems, the CRSM’s centrifugal atomizer produces strong fog propulsion, allowing the fog to travel upward into plant canopy and circulation airflow for improved coverage.

3- Stage Mechanical Control System

The CRSM uses a rugged electrical-mechanical control system designed for dependable operation in industrial and greenhouse environments. Instead of circuit boards or solid-state electronics, the control box relies on heavy-duty switches and contactors, allowing the unit to run on standard AC power while remaining simple to service and integrate with external timers or facility control systems.

POWER CONTROL MODES The main selector provides three operating positions:
OFF – disconnects power to the system.
ON – allows manual operation or control through external timers, computers, or automation systems.
AUTO SHUT-OFF – automatically shuts the unit down when the tank level becomes low, protecting the pump from running dry.

Fan Override for Pump Calibration - A fan override switch allows the pump to operate without the fogging fan. This feature helps operators measure pump output and calibrate liquid delivery rates, allowing accurate control of chemical application and treatment duration when using timers or automated systems.

Dual Valve Flow Control

The CRSM uses a dual-valve flow control system that provides both restricted flow and adjustable higher output. When the secondary valve (small valve) is closed, the system still delivers a preset restricted flow of about 2 GPH through an internal restrictor. This flow rate supports many common chemical applications and allows proper fogging when the head is angled upward.

By opening and calibrating the secondary valve, operators can increase the maximum flow rate while using the primary valve (large valve) for everyday adjustment and shutoff. This arrangement allows operators to preset a preferred operating range and easily control output during normal operation.

Bottom-Feeder Pump with Agitation

The CRSM uses a bottom-feeder pump with agitation to keep chemical solutions mixed while removing nearly all liquid from the tank. This design allows operators to use wettable powder formulations and other mixed solutions commonly used in greenhouse and industrial chemical applications.

The pump draws from the lowest point of the tank, allowing operators to empty nearly the entire contents when the system is calibrated and operated with the timer control.

Why the CRSM Includes a Timer Control

The CRSM includes a timer control so operators can shut the system down shortly after the tank runs empty when using calibrated flow rates. This allows the bottom-feeder pump to remove nearly all liquid from the tank.

This approach is useful when applying short shelf-life chemicals, such as hydrogen peroxide, where operators want to complete treatment cycles with minimal leftover solution.

  • Rain-tight NEMA 3 enclosure
  • Pre-wired with male & female cords

Metering Pump Inlet

The CRSM includes a metering pump inlet for applications where operators want to inject concentrate into the liquid flow before it reaches the fogging head. While more commonly used in chemical dosing applications, this port gives the CRSM added flexibility for specialized treatment setups.

  • 3/8" O.D. inlet connection
  • 1/4" NPT plug

SST Plumbing Option

The (SST) version includes all stainless-steel plumbing components installed in place of standard brass fittings. This option is recommended when fogging highly corrosive chemicals or sanitation solutions.

  • Replaces standard brass fittings
  • 304 (18-8) stainless steel components
  • Complete plumbing system upgrade
  • Factory Installed

How Jaybird Atomizes Water Without Nozzles

Jaybird fog systems use a patented centrifugal atomizing blade developed in 1986. Water enters a reservoir behind the fan blade and is forced through internal channels inside each blade. As the blade spins, centrifugal force drives water toward the blade tips where it exits through precision openings.

At the blade tip, several processes occur simultaneously:

  • The rotating blade atomizes the water into fine droplets
  • A pinned-venturi accelerates airflow around the blade
  • A ring of atomizing pins further breaks droplets into fog
  • Particle size is variable and desired size can be controlled by the feed rate

This multi-stage atomization process allows Jaybird systems to produce large volumes of fog while using a simple, reliable design with no high-pressure pumps or clogging nozzles.

The result is powerful fog production, strong air propulsion, and long-term reliability.

ULV Method

ULV (Ultra Low Volume) refers to the amount of water needed to mix and disperse chemical solution evenly. The ULV method differs significantly from those that employ typical sprayers, and which use small water droplets to carry the chemical solution to its intended source. Such spraying processes require much more water to treat an equal area in comparison to ULV.

The CRSM's atomization process produces billions of tiny fog particles laced with chemical. These fog particles are propelled with great force and most of the water content evaporates quickly, leaving behind small, sticky particles of pure chemical. These airborne micro-sized particles of residue float in all directions until eventually making contact with and coating most surfaces evenly.
